The Solution

Oxford Integration was tasked with the second phase of exhibits at the Solar Innovation Center. This phase focused on increasing visitor interactivity, and one of the key highlights was the development of the “Photon Catch” game. The game was designed to help visitors understand solar energy concepts in a fun and engaging way. We developed the game’s graphics, 3D models, and environment from scratch, ensuring they aligned with DEWA’s educational objectives.

A 50-Inch Sharp touchscreen LCD monitor was selected for its high-definition (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution and smooth touch functionality. This screen was ideal for showcasing the game in both a visually appealing and interactive manner, making it accessible for users of all ages. The integration of 10-point multi-touch functionality ensured that users could interact with the game quickly and efficiently.

Behind the scenes, a Zotac Magnus One Barebone PC was used to power the game. This high-performance system, known for its smooth processing, was chosen to ensure seamless gameplay without lag or interruptions, even during high-traffic periods at the center.

The kiosk housing the touchscreen and PC was custom-designed with a glossy finish and blue accent lighting to enhance its visual appeal and to fit seamlessly into the modern, tech-inspired aesthetics of the Solar Innovation Center. The overall design catered to users of all ages, from kids to adults, ensuring that everyone could enjoy and learn from the experience.
