The Solution

Oxford Integration was commissioned to deliver an immersive and educational exhibit showcasing the journey of electricity. The result was an innovative “Journey of Electricity” interactive wall, designed to educate visitors on the complex processes behind electricity generation and its delivery to consumers.

The exhibit utilized a 2×2 video wall composed of LG Transparent OLED PCAP touch screens, offering 33% transparency to give the impression of a living glass wall. By incorporating a 4K video wall controller and a high-performance Intel NUC mini PC, the system achieved precise touch mapping and seamless interactivity.

The software, custom-developed by Oxford Integration, included advanced 3D modeling of power equipment and their components. Visitors could navigate through a timeline displayed on the lower two touch screens, selecting stages of the electricity journey. The top two screens presented an interactive 3D view of the selected equipment, allowing users to rotate and explore components while reading detailed descriptions of their functionality.

The interactive display was designed with a user-friendly interface and visual effects that brought the journey of electricity to life, guiding users through the process from power generation to household consumption. The glossy finish of the kiosk further enhanced its futuristic appeal, blending seamlessly with the exhibit’s cutting-edge theme.
